  • Any BNI® Canada Chapter – currently active in their region.
  • One video may be submitted per BNI® Canada Chapter.

Absolutely - There will be First (1st), Second (2nd), and Third (3rd) prizes awarded Nationally from all Regional entries across Canada. 


Here Are The Details

How to Enter:

  • To enter, create your video contest entry based on this theme: BNI® Canada – “Look at What We Did!”….. “Our Chapter Did_______ As a Result of ________”
  • The idea must be based on the Results that your Chapter has had thanks to BNI® and how BNI® has helped your businesses. This could be, for example, Closed Business markers, Referral numbers given and/or received… etc. 
  • Once received all videos will be uploaded to the BNI® Canada YouTube Channel on the Contest launch date.

Can videos be submitted any way other than by uploading to the contest?

  • All video submissions are required to be submitted through our contest submission page link found here on “contest.bnicanada.ca”. 

Are Release Forms Required?

  • Yes. Each person appearing in or mentioned in your video MUST sign a release form in order for your video to be accepted in the contest.
  • A release form link can be found here on “contest.bnicanada.ca”. 

Video Guidelines:

  • Recommended video dimensions is 1280 x 720 – Landscape
  • Minimum width is 600 pixels (length depends on aspect ratio) for Landscape
  • Landscape aspect ratio is 16:9
  • Mobile renders both video types (Landscape and Portrait) to aspect ratio 2:3
  • Max file size is 4GB
  • Required video formats are .MP4 and .MOV
  • Video length max is 3 minutes

Can the videos have a graphic overlay?

  • You may add graphic elements to your video as long as BNI® imagery follows the current BNI® Branding Guidelines.

Are there any specific requirements for the video content?

  • To enter, create your video contest entry based on this theme: BNI® Canada – “Look at What We Did!”….. “Our Chapter Did_______ As a Result of ________”
  • The idea must be based on the Results that your Chapter has had thanks to BNI® and how BNI® has helped your businesses. This could be, for example, Closed Business markers, Referral numbers given and/or received… etc.  

Are there prizes? What are the prizes?

  • Initially, from all entries received, each Regional Executive Director will recognize the Top 3 Winning Submissions within and their own Region.
  • All Regional first place winners will move on to the final National portion of the contest.
  • There will be First (1st), Second (2nd), and Third (3rd) prizes awarded Nationally from all Regional entries across Canada. 
  • Regional winners will all be acknowledged on BNI® Canada social media channels and in a BNI Canada Blog posting.
  • The Third place winner will receive: Chapter Meet/Ask the CEO video meeting with National Director, Kai Bjorn | BNI Anniversary pins for all winning Chapter members | 3rd Place standing banner to commemorate your achievement.
  • The Second place winner will receive: Chapter Meet/Ask the CEO video meeting with National Director, Kai Bjorn| BNI mugs for all winning Chapter members | BNI Anniversary pins for all winning Chapter members | 2nd Place standing banner to commemorate your achievement.
  • The First place winner will receive: Chapter Meet/Ask the CEO video meeting with National Director, Kai Bjorn | BNI t-shirts for all winning Chapter members | BNI mugs for all winning Chapter members | BNI Anniversary pins for all winning Chapter members | 1st Place standing banner to commemorate your achievement.

How will Submissions be Judged?

All submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • BNI® Core Value(s) represented
  • Chapter focus
  • Adherence to proper BNI® branding guidelines
  • Engaging presentation
  • The number of views and comments the chapter video receives once it has been uploaded to the BNI Canada YouTube page

What is the submission deadline? How long does the contest last?

  • All video submissions and forms MUST be completed and sent no later than Thursday, October 1st, 2020, @ 11:59 PM EDT
  • Videos will then be uploaded by the contest committee to the BNI® Canada YouTube Channel for the Contest Launch date.
  • The Social Media portion/Contest Launch Date of the contest will take place from Thursday, October 8th, 2020, until Thursday, October 22nd, 2020, @ 11:59 PM EDT
  • Award announcements will be sent out to winners on or before Thursday, October 29th, 2020.

BNI®  Canada is not responsible for late or unsuccessful attempts to enter. BNI® Canada reserves the right to allow for minor fluctuations between the Entrant’s timing device and the actual runtime of the Submission, based on clear intent to comply with the Official Rules, as determined in the BNI®  Canada’s sole discretion. The Entrant should be able to provide on request all appropriate clearances, permissions and releases for the Video Submission, including releases from the submitting Entrant and any persons and/or third parties appearing in the Submission. Incomplete, corrupted, untimely, or unintelligible entries will be disqualified. If for any reason an Entrant’s entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, Entrant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Contest, BNI®  Canada reserves the right to determine in its sole discretion which entries have satisfied the entry requirements. Entrants may not enter more than once. ELIGIBLE ENTRANTS MUST SUBMIT THEIR ENTRY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE OFFICIAL RULES. NO OTHER METHOD OF SUBMISSION WILL BE ACCEPTED.
